Standard billing rates

We charge clients based on the actual time & efforts spent on their tax related work, including tax planning, consultation, research, tax compliance matters, tax return preparation and communications with you, the client.

Minimum fee

The upfront partial payment (retainer) for our services constitutes a minimum fee and is generally non-refundable.

Expenses are minimal

The add-on costs for our trader clients are nominal – usually between $0 and $100. They might include a  unique situation software processing or license fee. The IRS generally requires efiling of tax returns and therefore you save time and money on delivery costs (unless you need to paper file the tax return or you need to have a paper copy sent to you, in which case we add an amount for that.

Invoices

All invoices are payable before delivery

Upon the completion of your tax return, we will send you a PDF of the entire tax return or substantial excerpts with a watermark on all pages indicating that you should not file that PDF with the government. After your approval, we will present our final invoice. We require payment before delivery of your completed tax returns. We offer an option to pay via credit card or PayPal for an additional nominal fee.

We often send clients interim invoices before completion if the unbilled time & efforts exceed the initial payment. Interim invoices are due on receipt; the job may be put on hold until payment is received. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Partial Payment / Minimum Fee

We require a partial payment when you sign up for our services each year. This represents our minimum price and is a prepayment applied against the total. Expect a balance due when we complete the engagement.

Before we commence our work we need to document this with a standard engagement letter which spells out the scope of the engagement including the work expected to be done, partial payment, refund conditions, pricing terms, and both our responsibilities and your responsibilities.

Refund Policy

If you’d like us to stop working on your file, you are responsible for payment of all our time, efforts and expenses incurred up until the termination date. You are required to pay charges incurred over the partial payment. If the amount is less than your credit, we may refund the unused payment less a nominal charge.
